Promethean interactive whiteboards case study

Fujitsu Services is one of Europe’s leading providers of managed service for IT and is providing a managed service under a 15 year contract with Unity City Academy (UCA). UCA is one of the first new Academies opened outside of the London area and part of the education initiatives to create new style centres for learning announced by the Government in 2000.

Scheduled to open in September 2003 in a new building designed to house audio visual facilities, state-of-the-art lecture theatre and digital recording studio. UCA specialises in ICT. Fujitsu approached Taalus to install UCA’s interactive whiteboards and projectors.

Taalus installed and cabled 56 Promethean Interactive Whiteboards and Epson projectors with universal projector bracket in all of UCA’s classrooms, staff room and Head Teacher’s office. Taalus also decommissioned and reinstalled existing whiteboards and projectors from an existing site UCA was using whilst the building construction was taking place.

The installation was carried out in four phases in June and July. Taalus AV engineers installed 2 systems per day and Taalus’ sign-off procedure for every room ensured customer satisfaction.

Taalus continues to work with Fujitsu in not only in Audio Visual installations but with implementing IP Telephony and data cabling to its extensive client base.
