"My relationship with Taalus providing network infrastructure services spans over 10 years. They have always been reliable, reasonably priced, and never let me down. It was an obvious choice to involve them in Help the Aged’s new IT projects." - Greg Cooke, IT Infrastructure Manager
Three months prior to the installation, Taalus Project Management conducted planning meetings, liaising closely with Help the Aged and other appointed contractors used to deliver the project. This included consultation on comms room design, power protection, and air conditioning requirements.
"Taalus’ input in pre-project planning meetings was valuable. Taalus’ expertise in designing network cabling infrastructure, as well as Health and Safety issues, were fully taken on board by our Facilities and IT Services Departments.
Taalus went above and beyond our expectations in delivering this project for Help the Aged. Taalus Project Management was extremely flexible in timescales for delivery given such short notice and ad-hoc requirements were accommodated when required." - Greg Cooke, IT Infrastructure Manager
As an accredited Network Sciences installer, Taalus chose HellermannTyton Cat5e cabling products and provided a 25 year warranty on all components for the project.
The 250 Category 5e outlet installations took 3 weeks to complete. New telephone multicore cabling was installed to support the delivery of voice services from the telephone system via the new infrastructure. Taalus qualified electricians also installed 140 power sockets over 3 floors. Redundant cabling was removed and disposed in an environmentally friendly manner.
The project was co-ordinated effectively and completed on time to avoid any disruption to the scheduled opening of the call centre.
